Saving energy
Metropolitana Milanese, committed as it is to the energy saving issue, has launched numerous activities, including:
- making employees aware of and share the responsible energy use;
- studying proposed lines of action and defining priorities in terms of energy;

- calculation and use of the expected saved energy, gradually increasing investment in positive processes;
These activities are expected to bring about significant reduction in MM’s energy consumption, each with its own timing and in different ways, such as:
- eliminate waste of energy by establishing “feasible alternative production techniques”;
- improve the efficiency of each piece of equipment;
- propose more sustainable energy procurement (such as from renewable sources).
The Energy Manager - the person in charge of saving and rational use of energy within the Company”
In May 2009 Metropolitana Milanese appointed an Energy Manager.
The Company Energy Manager, explicitly called for by law, is entrusted with the following tasks:
- identifying the actions, work, procedures, and whatever else is required to promote the rational use of energy within the Company;
- drawing up energy balance sheets related to the economic parameters and the final use of energy;
- preparing energy data required by the central authorities and other subjects as defined by the law.
