Managing water resources
Beside managing the integrated water cycle for the City, Metropolitana Milanese plans, designs and supervises the construction of new networks and plants and is responsible for the maintenance of the existing ones.
Its mission is to meet the water needs of the Milan community by supplying sufficient quantity of quality drinking water and by assuring responsible, cost-efficient and environmentally sound water resource management.
Its commitment in this area has led to the development of a sustainability policy.
The linchpin of this system is the Social Responsibility Statement aimed at making the financial, corporate and environmental aspects transparent. This also means sharing with the general public the principles that govern the attitude and actions of the company in its role as manager and custodian of the City’s water and supplier of citizens’ basic services.
